"God save us from the queen"

Films: Queen of the Damned (2002)

Alias: Queen Akasha the Vampire Queen (Queen of the Damned)

Type: Mystical

Location: Civilized Area

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: Remember Lestat? One of the first pretty boy vampires to grace the screen? Well, he's back, but this time, he's got the entirety of vampires to worry about and/or be one with. And in the society of the blood suckers, it pays to know whose with or against you. Especially when the progenitor of them all gets involved.

History: After decades of rest, Lestat emerges from his slumber due to rock n roll racket, and actually finds the whole musical showbiz thing to be quite fun. So, as he pursues the life of a singer and embarrasses his fellow vampires, he winds up awakening another vampire with music. Akasha, the queen of all vampires herself. She was the first, ruling Egypt with an iron fist before being turned to stone. Well, now she's back to crush both humanity and the many vampires who oppose her. Needing a mate and rather enraptured by Lestat's charm, she seduces him into joining her side, and now all both some humans and the Ancient Vampires must stop them.

Notable Kills: Akasha rips a guy's heart out, eats it, and sets the remains on fire.

Final Fate: After forcing Lestat to attack his love interest, Akasha unwittingly causes him to come to his senses, and he drains her almost entirely of blood. An Ancient Vampire named Maharet sucks up the last drop, and turns into a statue as the new Queen of the Damned. Lestat gets to live with a new vampire mate, no longer attracted by evil.

Powers/Abilities: Akasha has great strength, telekinesis, pyrokinesis, and the ability to convert people with a bite. Also, if she drinks enough blood, she can walk in the sunlight with ease.

Weakness: Drain the blood from the body.

Scariness Factor: 4-Akasha is not to be trifled with as the vampire queen. Sure, she can be a bit hammy, but she commands the stage unlike the rest, and will kill scores of her own kind just to make a point.

Trivia: -Akasha was played by singer Aaliyah, who loved the role enough to want to cosplay as it next Halloween...only to die of a plane crash less than a year later. Ouch.

-In contrast with the previous film based off her work, Anne Rice absolutely hated this one, feeling that they butchered every single aspect. It probably had something to do with turning Lestat into vampire David Bowie if he did heavy metal.
